The Bernhardts - I Hear You Calling 7" (1984)

This dude reminds me of Mario Lopez of the sitcom Saved By The Bell. Anwyay, I don't have any information about the band. I highly recommend this single. If you have any information about them, feel free to post a comment.

Fat And Frantic - I Don't Want To Say Goodbye 12" (1990)

This band was introduced to me by my friend Jonas D. One of the songs in the mix tapes he gave me years back. Fat and Frantic were a humorous Christian music group who played a self-styled mixture of Gospel Music and Skiffle which they described as "Goffle". According to the write up their best song was "Last Night My Wife Hoovered My Head". I personally think " I Don't Want To Say Goodbye is much better single.

Counterfeit - Good Samaritan 12" (1989)

A British synth pop trio releasing The Good Samaritan / Four Years on Creation Records in 1989. I put this up on youtube august last year and the lead vocals Lee McFadden posted his first comment... "I provided keyboards and guitar as well as vocals - also - who put this up - it's embarrassing!" I got some information about the rest of the members after he posted a second comment..."
Glen is in Blue October (UK) - another electronic pop band - well recommended. I'm in various groups - Alternative TV, The Long Decline, Angel Racing Food, Head & Shoulders, Demi-Monde, and help out with TV Personalities (the band) from time to time. Heath is not currently musically involved - but has recently become a proud dad." Anyway, I don't care what he thinks about his band, I still love this song. If you like Depeche Mode and other Synthpop bands like Celebrate The Nun, Elegant Machinery, Cetu Javu, this is for you.

Ignatius Jones - Like A Ghost (An M & M Mix) 12" (1982)

This is one of those "buy at your own risk" record of mine. I bought it at a bargain bin at a local record store in Ventura County a few years ago.. Former lead singer of punk cabaret band Jimmy and The Boys and an actor in Australia. Born in the Philippines in 1957. Like A Ghost was written by Steve Kilbey of The Church.

Mecano - Those Revolutionary Days 5" (2007)

Mecano is best described as new wave, with remarkable arrangements, colored with unusual guitar harmonies. This is not the same Synth-pop band from Spain. This is their new album after 22 years. I'm posting 2 of the songs from this album.. Atheist Chant and Untitled. If you like their songs please support the band and buy their cd.

Boom Boom Room - Here Comes The Man (Extended Version) 12" (1987)

New Wand band from U.K.,formed in 1985. “Here Comes The Man” was their first single released on the independent “Fun After All” label. They released their full length album "Stretch" on LP and Cd format under Epic Records. Once in awhile you see their cd on ebay but I have to warn you, it's not cheap.

Nova - Some Simplicity/World Without Pity 12" (1983)

I bought their cd “Another Song Of Life”, before the wherehouse music in my area closed it’s doors. I don’t have any idea how they sound like, but just like what other music collectors do (I guess), I took the risk in buying it. And besides, it only cost me 2 dollars. They look new wave so I assumed they sound new wave too! They actually do! The single I’m sharing here reminds me of The Connells early recordings. If you have any information about this band, feel free to post a comment. Download the mp3s and let me know your feedback.

Dead Famous People - Secret Girl's Business 5" (2001)

>

My first post on Cd format. 80's indie-pop band from New Zealand. Released an album and an E.P. in the late eighties. Disbanded in 1990. A year later they released "All Hail The Daffodil", a collection of music they record before they called it quits. I am on the look out for this rare cd for years now but I don't have any luck yet in getting my hands on it. I guess you have to be vigilant if you are relying on ebay. Once in a while this cd pops up on ebay. For now, I will settle for this compilation that was released in 2001 by Global Routes Music. Besides, it includes one of my favorite songs, "Postcard From Paradise" which I will share to everyone. If you like their music please support the band and buy their cd. If you are an avid listener of Club 8 and Acid House Kings, this band is for you.

The Light - Constrasting Strangers (Temptation Mix) 12" 1986

Brian Atherton was originally a member of a band called Box Of Toys, who managed that most Holy Grail of Musical Holy Grail's in 1983. After that he recorded a bit as The Light , now writes bits and bobs for TV and adverts - and lives in Brazil. Actually, he wasn't that hard to track down to be honest, he's on myspace . They released 2 singles, "Pride Of Winning" and "Contrasting Strangers" both are hard to find gems. I'm still looking for another pressing of Contrasting Strangers with different sleeve though.

Friends - Far And Away 12" (1987)

I was introduced to this band by my friend Jonas Daabo in early 2000, back when we were still active in newwave101 egroup. We used to trade compilation mix tapes (cd-r) and one of the songs from that cd-r was their song "You'll Never See That Summertime Again" a catchy tune I fell in love with, the first time I heard it. It was taken from their 1989 album "Roads Leading Everywhere". The record I am featuring here is taken from their first album " Let's Get Away From It All". One of my favorites. I'm not sure if this single is still available in the summerhouserecords' website. Give it a listen and tell me your feedback. I guess I found another gem to be added in my collection. It's a 5 track EP released under Rock It Records in 1986. "Whatever Happened To Small Talk" is the best track in this record. Tell me what you think about this band.
