Cause & Effect were formed in Sacramento, California, consisting of founding members vocalist/guitarist Rob Rowe and keyboardist Sean Rowley. They originally released their debut in 1990 as a self-titled album on minor label Exile Records. C&E was subsequently picked up by BMG Music subsidiary, Zoo Entertainment, and a reworked version of their album was released in 1991 as Another Minute. Their song "The Sound Of Summer" was included in the Sound Of Leamington Spa compilation cd Vol 3 -> currently sold out. Wednesday Child is one of the best songs in this cd. I bought my copy at their WEBSITE years back so I'm not sure if this is still available for purchase. Andy Goddard is now currently active with his new band roomthirteen.

The Loft - On A Tuesday 5" (1985)

The Loft, a guitar pop band from the U.K. and Peter Astor’s band before he formed The Weather Prophets with his drummer. Released their first single “Why Does The Rain”, one of Creation Records' early releases in the 80's. “On A Tuesday” a song that was overlooked, and in my opinion this is their second best song from their recordings. Creation Records released a compilation of their recordings in 1989, Once Round The Fair: 1982-1985 and I heard this was re-issued recently in the UK. There goes the value and rareness of this cd.

The Rain - To The Citadel 12" (1989)

The Rain were an indie pop band from Basingstoke, England, active between 1986 and the early 1990s. They later changed their name to Clark Springs. I highly recommend this album. 2 of my favorite songs in this album are Tom Paine and First Of May.

Jobs For The Boys - A Mercy Sound Compilation 12" (1984)

After I got off work yesterday, I decided to stop by Grady's Refuge record store in Ventura to see if I can find anything interesting. I got a couple of records for less than 10 bucks. One of the records I found was a compilation released in 1984 under Natalie Records. I'm not familiar with the bands that are included in this album except for 3 bands. This Final Frame, I-Lands, and The Rain Kings. I discovered I-Lands and The Rain Kings on you tube not too long ago and since then I've been on the look out for their records. I don't know if they have released any records, but for now I just have to settle with what I have. I am sharing 7 out of 17 songs from this record. I-Lands and The Rain Kings are highly recommended.

TRACKS:

The Rain Kings - A Kind Of Cruelty

Discipline - Borderline

Experimental Gardens - In The Dance

Cook Da Books - Piigy In The Middle 8

Heaven Tonight - Mystery Play

I-Lands - Back Before The Pain

Broken Promise - Beneath Those Lines

Second View - Machinery/Everything Is Gone 12" (1986)

Second View also known as The Moscopeboys. I'm still puzzled why they have 2 names but I guess this remains a mystery until we get one of the members of the band to post a comment on our blogspot. Anyway, according to my friend, The Moscopeboys was released under fun factory while the copy I have here was released by View Records. Could it be the record company who changed their names? hmmm.. I don't have any information about them but one thing for sure these guys are from Germany by looking at their names and credits on their record. I agree with my buddy Cino, that they sound real close to the wild swans. If you like this band, I recommend you look for the band Weeping Messerschmitts. With the style of music they have I think they are comparable to Second View. That's just my opinion. For Weeping Messerchmitt's sample audio, refer to this link: http://noiseboxmusiccollection.blogspot.com/2009/05/another-rare-discovery-by-larry.html
